From January to August GWP of Albanian insurers expanded by 19.28% y-o-y to ALL 12.7 billion (~EUR 103.3 million*), as official figures showed, SeeNews reports.

Non-life segment increased by 18.32% to ALL 11.7 billion for the first eight months, while the life insurance GWP reached ALL 904.1 million, which is up 29.8%, according to figures published by the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) last week.

Total paid claims dropped to ALL 4.6 billion in the period from ALL 5.0 billion paid in January-August 2020. The statistics comprise data for eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
