The insurance sector of Albania in the first seven months of the year expanded by 8.98% to ALL 15.5 billion (EUR 159.4 million), according to the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA), SeeNews reports.

Non-life insurance accounted for 91.34% of the total premium volume, while the share of life insurance reached 8.63%, and reinsurance - 0.03%, as AFSA.

Total paid claims rose 0.9% y-o-y to ALL 4.8 billion (~EUR 49.38 million).

It is noted that the statistics comprise data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
