ARMENIA: Insurance companies' aggregate assets grow 9.8% to AMD 39.2 billion

Armenian insurance companies' aggregate assets reached AMD 39.2 billion by late June after growing 9.8% over the second quarter, the Central Bank of Armenia reports.

Deposits in banks constituted the major part of the insurance companies' assets - 33.8%, the insurance premiums received from direct insurance activity accounted for 15.9% - the second biggest share in the total assets in the second quarter, other sums on insurance made up 10% of the companies' aggregate assets and investments in securities 4.4%.

Armenian insurance market's liabilities grew 17.3% to AMD 25.9 billion, of which 62.3% are reserves of unearned premiums.

Seven insurance companies functioned in Armenia in late June.
