Some 638.6 million drams were paid as reinsurance premiums, down from 739.8 million drams paid in the first quarter of 2013.
The leading company in terms of collected premiums was Rosgosstrakh Armenia (3.3 billion drams, a 1.8% growth from the year before).
It was followed by Ingo Armenia (2.3 billion drams, down 17.6%), Nairi Insurance - about 1.7 billion drams (up 5.2%), Sil Insurance -1.17 billion drams (up 14.6%), Reso - 898.7 million drams (decline by 29.2 %), Armenia Insurance -719 million drams (6.4% growth), Garant - Limens -1.88 million drams (decline of 99.7%).
The overall amount of paid insurance indemnities amounted to 4.9 billion drams, having increased by 5.3%, and 834.4 million were paid as reinsured indemnities against 252.4 million drams paid in the same period last year.
The assets of insurance companies in the first quarter amounted to 44.3 billion drams, an increase of 2.7% compared with the same period last year. Their liabilities amounted to 28.9 billion drams (a 1.5% increase), and their capital grew by 5.1% to 15.4 billion drams.
