AXA’s Board of Directors appoints Ewout Steenbergen to replace Rachel Duan

Following the recommendation of the Compensation, Governance & Sustainability Committee, AXA’s Board of Directors has decided to appoint Ewout Steenbergen to replace Rachel Duan for the remainder of her mandate, that is until the 2026 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting, the press release says.

On August 1st, 2024, Rachel Duan informed AXA’s Board of Directors of her intention to resign from her directorship at the end of the year.

The new appointment will be effective from January 1st, 2025, and will be proposed for ratification at AXA’s 2025 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting.

Ewout Steenbergen was selected by the Board of Directors in light of his strong insurance, technology and financial expertise, and his international executive profile. He is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Booking Holdings Inc.
