AZERBAIJAN: The market rose 12.5% ​​in January-July

In January-July 2025, total GWP of 16 insurance companies, operating on the market in Azerbaijan, amounted to AZN 937.658 million (~EUR 483.33 million), which is 12.5% ​​more y-o-y, ABC.AZ writes with reference to the Central Bank.

Total paid claims of the insurance companies during the reporting period amounted to AZN 529.307 million (~EUR 272.84 million), which is 20.25% more y-o-y.

GWP from compulsory insurance in Azerbaijan in January-July of this year amounted to AZN 221.357 million, according to the information of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan. This is 5.7% more than in the same period of 2024. At the same time, paid claims in compulsory insurance for the reporting period reached AZN 80.595 million, which means a 12.2% y-o-y increase.

In January-July 2025, insurance companies collected AZN 716.301 million in voluntary insurance, which is 14.8% more than a year earlier. At the same time, paid claims in voluntary insurance in the reporting period amounted to AZN 448.712 million, which is 22.3% more y-o-y.

In January-July, AZN 406.435 million were collected in Azerbaijan in non-life insurance. As ABC.AZ writes with reference to the Central Bank, this is 7% more y-o-y. Paid claims in non-life insurance increased by 6.1% during the reporting period and reached AZN 153.257 million.

During the reporting period, AZN 531.223 million were collected in life insurance, which is 17.1% more y-o-y. Life paid claims increased by 27.2% and reached AZN 376.05 million, the source writes.
