UNSAR members elected Adrian MARIN (CEO of GENERALI Romania) as Chairman of the association, and Marius POPESCU (CEO of NN Life Insurance) as Vice-President ", reads the UNSAR's press release.
"We have decided to take the UNSAR's presidency responsibility in a very difficult context for the Romanian insurance market. Together with my colleagues from the Steering Committee we will direct our efforts for starting or continuing the projects useful and relevant for both clients and Union members, and for the insurance market as a whole. UNSAR through the joint efforts of all its members must assume the role of principal dialogue partner for the public institutions with regard to the regulatory processes of the insurance industry. The main objectives of the Union must be improving market's predictability, regaining customers' trust and increase financial education," said Adrian MARIN, President UNSAR.
Adrian MARIN has been working for GENERALI since 1996 when he started as insurance underwriter. As time went on, Adrian MARIN proved good management and technical skills and step by step he passed through different management levels and in 2008 he was appointed Member of the Board responsible for Non-Life Insurance Division. In 2011, as Deputy CEO and Head of Non-Life Division of GENERALI Asigurari, he was involved in the preparation of the merger between GENERALI Asigurari and ARDAF. Since September 2011, Adrian MARIN is the CEO and Chairman of the Board of the new company resulted after the merger, GENERALI Romania.
Marius POPESCU has reached the third mandate as Vice-President of UNSAR, heading the Life & Health Insurance and the Solvency II commissions within the association. He has an 11 years career with the NN Group, successively holding several top management positions.
On the same occasion, UNSAR has also elected the new Steering Committee. Besides GENERALI and NN, the committee will be formed by representatives of ALLIANZ-TIRIAC, CREDIT EUROPE Asigurari, GRAWE Romania, OMNIASIG and UNIQA Asigurari.
