The Insurance Supervisory Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA BiH) signed an agreement on permanent access to data from the records of registered vehicles and registration documents on January 19, the regulator said on its website.
The aim of the agreement is to improve cooperation between the two agencies.
Motor liability insurance makes up 59% of the non-life insurance portfolio of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with over half a million entities that have at least one MTPL policy.
The cooperation between the IDDEEA BiH and the Supervisory Agency is important for improvement of the regulator’s supervisory activities when it comes to mandatory motor liability insurance as the Supervisory Agency will have an opportunity to update its existing databases/registers about the concluded MTPL policies. This type of insurance also has a special social significance, considering the number of vehicles, traffic accidents and the total amount of damage.
