Bosnia and Herzegovina: Bosnia’s Federation insurance market rises 8.2% in Jan-Aug, while the Serb Republic’s insurance market expands by 9%

Insurance companies operating in Bosnia’s Federation posted combined GWP of BAM 538.6 million (EUR 275.4 million) in the first eight months of this year, which means a 8.2% y-o-y increase, according to the Federation’s insurance supervision agency, SeeNews writes.

Non-life segment rose by 9% to BAM 437.5 million in the January-August period, while life segment expanded by 4.9% to BAM 101 million, the regulator said.

During the first eight months of the year, ASA Central recorded the highest GWP volume of BAM 100.7 million, 15.4% more y-o-y. It was followed by Adriatic with BAM 84.8 million, up 14.9% y-o-y.

It is noted that the regulator's report comprises data on 19 insurance companies operating in Bosnia’s Federation, 10 of which are Federation-based. The remaining nine are based in Bosnia's Serb Republic. The Federation and the Serb Republic are two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The insurance companies operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Serb Republic posted combined GWP of BAM 262.1 million (EUR 134 million) in the first eight months of 2025, up 9% y-o-y, the Serb Republic’s insurance regulator said.

Non-life segment increased by 9.7% to BAM 220.8 million in the January-August period, while life segment rose by 5.6% to BAM 41.3 million, the Serb Republic’s insurance agency said.

It is noted that the report includes data on 23 insurance companies.
