CROATIA: The market in August 2022 grew by 8.13%

According to the cumulative data of the Croatian Insurance Authority for August 2022, total GWP of the market reached HRK 8.79 billion (~EUR 1.16 billion), which represents an increase of 8.13% y-o-y, osiguranje.hr reports.

In non-life insurance, which accounts for 77.37% of the market portfolio, the insurers generated HRK 6.80 billion (+10.64%). Motor insurance continues to be the most popular insurance class with GWP worth HRK 2.11 billion (+6.34% y-o-y). The share of this type of insurance in the total premium is 24.07% and 31.12% in the non-life segment.

Life insurers collected by the end of August HRK 1.98 billion, recording a growth of 0.35%. Life insurance accounts for 22.63% of the total premium (in 2021, its share was 24.39%). In the structure of life insurance, the largest share is held by classic life insurance with GWP of HRK 1.48 billion, which is 9.49% less y-o-y. Classic life insurance occupies 74.71% in the life segment, and 16.91% in the total market portfolio.
