CROATIA: in January the market grew by 19.07%

According to the data of the Croatian Insurance Bureau for January 2022, total market GWP reached HRK 1.22 billion (~EUR 0.16 billion*), which 19.07% more y-o-y, reports.

In non-life insurance, which accounts for 82.63% of the market, GWP amounted to HRK 1.01 billion, which means an increase of 9.15%. The most common type of insurance is still liability insurance of motor vehicles with GWP worth HRK 231.46 million (+7.87%). The share of this segment in the total market is 18.86% and 22.83% in the non-life insurance.

Life insurance generated HRK 213.15 million of GWP and recorded a growth of 8.71%. The share of life insurance in the total market portfolio is 17.37% (vs 17.43% in 2021).

In the structure of life insurance, the largest share belongs to classic policies, which generated HRK 168.10 million, with a slight decrease by 0.92% y-o-y. The share of these policies in the life insurance portfolio is 78.86%, while in the total market it is 13.70%.
