CROATIA: moderate market growth by the end of October supported by the non-life

According to the data of the Croatian Insurance Agency for October 2022, GWP of insurance companies reached HRK 10.64 billion (~EUR 1.41 billion), which is 7.62% more compared to the same period of 2021, www.svijetosiguranja.eu wrote.

In the non-life market, which accounts for 77.86% of the total volume, GWP totaled HRK 8.29 billion (+10.68%). The most popular class is still liability insurance of motor vehicle owners with GWP worth HRK 2.67 billion (+7.46% y-o-y). The share of this type in the total portfolio is 25.15% and 32.30% on the non-life market.

Life insurance for the period amounted to HRK 2.35 billion, with an annual decrease of 1.91%. Life insurance accounts for 22.14% of the total premium (in 2021, its share was 24.29%). In the structure, the largest class is classic Life Insurance (HRK 1.78 billion, - 9.39%), which in the life portfolio accounts for 75.75%, and in the total market volume occupies 16.77%.
