According to the Statistical Service's report entitled "Registration of Motor Vehicles" for the period January-June 2012, the total registrations of motor vehicles during the first six months of 2012 decreased by 26,9% to 14.613 in January - June 2012, from 20.003 vehicles in the same period of 2011.
The registration of private saloon cars decreased to 10.806, from 14.066 in January-June 2011, marking a decrease of 23,2%. Of the total private saloon cars, 5.800 vehicles or 53,7% were new and 5.006 vehicles or 46,3% were used cars.
Goods conveyance vehicles' registration decreased by 42,4% to 1.471 in 2012, compared to 2.555 in 2011 while light goods vehicles decreased by 41,6% to 1.218, from 2.087 in 2011.
Heavy goods vehicles decreased by 56,1% to 158 in January-June 2012, from 360 in 2011. Road tractors (units of trailers) decreased by 12,0% to 95 in January- June 2012, from 108 in January-June 2011.
Mopeds <50(cc) decreased by 48,5% to 138 in January-June 2012, compared to 268 in January-June 2011. Mechanised cycles>50(cc) decreased by 18,3% to 1.126 in 2012, compared to 1.378 in January-June 2011
