Croatia osiguranje's half-year profits increased by 6% y-o-y to almost EUR 30 million

In the first half of 2022, Croatia osiguranje - one of the largest re/insurance group in Adriatic Region, increased its consolidated net profit by 6% to HRK 222 million (~EUR 29.6 million), as Croatian conglomerate ADRIS Grupa announced on its website, fortifieng "its leading position on Croatian insurance market".

Croatia osiguranje's gross premium charged in Croatia was increased by 7% to HRK 1,810 million (more than EUR 240 million). "The total market share is 28.3%, with a 33.3% share in non-life insurance. In 1H, the latter saw a 1.4pp increase in market share".

The consolidated GWP, including regional branches, is HRK 2,181 million (EUR 290 million), up 9% from 1H 2021. The combined ratio from regular business of CO Group increased 0.2pp compared to 1H 2021, reaching 94.2.

The company announced in 2022 it continued to invest in its digital business development segment, with HRK 100 m (EUR 13.3 million). Thus, "the premium from digital channels grew by 49% in the first half of the year, while Croatia osiguranje's digital brand Laqo saw a 93% growth".

Investments continued in the development and expansion of the health division, with more than HRK 60 million (EUR 8 million). "The business development strategy focuses on covering the entire country with modern polyclinics providing a wide range of services. In addition to Croatia Polyclinics in Zagreb, Split, Pula and Koprivnica, a new polyclinic opened in Rijeka in March. Another opening is planned by the end of 2022, with two more Croatia Polyclinics coming up in 2023".
