DUNAV Osiguranje's profit in decline after the first half of the year

Serbian state-owned insurer DUNAV Osiguranje ended 1H2017 with a profit volume of RSD 53.2 million, despite premium income raising by 5.9%, to RSD 10.7 billion, See News reports.

The result is by far inferior to the previous year, when the company has reported a profit after taxes of RSD 839.9 million.

Pre-tax profit fell to RSD 62.5 million in January-June, down 92.8%, while operating income grew by 6.4% to RSD 11.7 billion, Dunav Osiguranje has recently said in a bourse filing. 

First-half premium income from life insurance came in at 725.6 million dinars, up 4.6% year-on-year, and non-life insurance premium income rose 6.4% to 13.2 billion dinars.

Operating costs grew by 16.7% to RSD 7.7 billion, Dunav Osiguranje's balance sheet for the first half of 2017 showed.
