According to the Association of Estonian Insurance Companies (EKsL), 1,340 employers purchased additional health insurance last year, insuring a total of 55,600 employees. The amount of employer health insurance premiums increased by 30% and reached EUR 19 million, the Association wrote.

According to EKsL CEO Mart Jesse, employer health insurance is the fastest growing insurance class for the sixth year in a row. "The service was launched in 2018, when a tax exemption was introduced for insurance premiums of up to EUR 400 per employee per year. The average annual increase of GWP has been 108% since 2019. In recent years, the growth rate of premiums has decreased, but still remains a record," said Jesse.

In 2023, the number of employer health insurance contracts increased by 6%, while the number of insured employees increased by 15%.

On the Estonian insurance market, employer health insurance is offered by BTA, ERGO, If Kindlustus, LHV Kindlustus, PZU, Seesam, and Compensa Elukindlustus.
