Elisabeth STADLER replaces Peter HAGEN as VIG's Chairman of the Managing Board
elisabeth_stadlerAustrian VIG Chief Executive Peter HAGEN will leave the company at the end of December and will be succeeded by DONAU Versicherung CEO Elisabeth STADLER, the insurer announced on its website.

"Due to differences in opinion regarding the future strategic orientation and steering of the Group, Peter HAGEN will be leaving his position as Chairman of the Managing Board of the Vienna Insurance Group on 31 December 2015 in mutual agreement with the Supervisory Board", the Austrian insurer said in a statement.

"The Supervisory Board elected Elisabeth STADLER to be his successor in the position of Chairman of the Managing Board, effective 1 January 2016 to 30 June 2018".

The Vienna Insurance Group Managing Board will consist of the following Members as of 1 January 2016:
  • Elisabeth STADLER, CEO
  • Franz FUCHS
  • Roland GROLL
  • Judit HAVASI
  • Peter HOFINGER
  • Martin SIMHANDL, CFO
From 1 January 2016, Deputy Members for the Managing Board will be:
  • Martin DIVIS, MBA
  • Gabor LEHEL
Peter HAGEN has been on VIG's Managing Board since 2004 and became CEO in 2012. His contract was due to run until June 2018

Elisabeth STADLER began her professional career in 1983 as an actuary at the former Bundeslander-Versicherung. After holding various positions in the area of life insurance, she was appointed to the Management Board of UNIQA Personenversicherung and RAIFFEISEN Versicherung in 2003. In 2009 she moved to ERGO Austria as Chairwoman of the Management Board, while in mid 2014 she took over the CEO position of  VIG subsidiary DONAU Versicherung.
