1H2011 - Too big to be small

The region of the Commonwealth of Independent States offers important potentials for future growth of the insurance market. This statement is reinforced if we compare the figures recorded in the first six months of this year to those recorded in Central and Eastern Europe. In the first six months of 2011, the market amounted to EUR17.3bn, with only half euro million less than the cumulated result of the 17 countries of the CEE Region. Also, the growth rate was higher than in the CEE: 11.2%, compared to 8.2%.

2010: The future is in the East

The CIS insurance market has avoided the crisis in 2010, a reality confirmed by presented figures: in no state has the insurance industry decreased. Thus, if we exclude Russia, the insurance market of the 10 CIS countries accounted for a volume of underwritings of EUR 3.6 billion, about 21% more than in 2009. If in the total result we also include Russia, the market amounted to EUR 29.4 billion, with only EUR 3.6 billion less than the cumulated result of the 17 countries of the CEE region.

1H2010: Promises for better

The region of the Commonwealth of Independent States offers important potentials for future growth of the insurance market. This statement is reinforced if we compare the figures recorded in the first six months of this year to those recorded in Central and Eastern Europe.
