In 1Q2025, total insurance income (the difference between premiums and expenses) reached GEL 76 million from GEL 69 million a year earlier.

At the same time, net profit of the insurance sector amounted to GEL 26 million/~EUR 8.72 million (vs GEL 25 million in 1Q2024), Business Georgia reports.

Health insurance is the largest segment on the market. According to statistics, 773,366 people have health insurance in Georgia, which is 6% more than in 2024.

The second largest segment is motor insurance. A total of 140,367 vehicles are insured in the country, which is 9% more than a year earlier, the source added.
