GEORGIA: The number of private health insurance policies increased by only 1% as of the beginning of 2023

As of now, only 18% of the population in Georgia uses private health insurance, according to the state insurance supervision service, Business Georgia wrote.

By the beginning of 2023, the number of issued private health insurance policies in Georgia amounted to 682,152 units, which is only 1% more y-o-y.

The premium portfolio of private insurance companies in Georgia over the past year amounted to GEL 375.4 million (EUR 130.14 million). The leader is GPI Holding (26% of the market share), followed by Imedi L (18%), the top-5 also includes Ardi, TBC Insurance and Irao.
