The Bulgarian Financial Supervision Commission has approved INTERAMERICAN Bulgaria's application to provide insurance on the territory of Estonia, the authority reports.

INTERAMERICAN Bulgaria entered the Bulgarian market in 1998 and was the first foreign-owned insurer locally. For ten years the insurer has opened 64 offices and agencies and also provided a large number of jobs for Bulgarian citizens.

INTERAMERICAN Bulgaria is part of the EUREKO Group holding company, registered in the Netherlands. EUREKO Group is a relevant player of the insurance markets in the Netherlands, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Ireland, Slovakia, France, Belgium, Turkey and Russia, with 23,000 employees.

The company's main shareholders are ACHMEA INTERAMERICAN Bulgaria Association and RABOBANK.

In the first six months of 2011, INTERAMERICAN Bulgaria underwrote EUR 11.48 million on the non-life insurance line, with a market share of 2.07%, according INSURANCE Profile - Bulgaria 1H2011.
