Inclusive Insurance Regulatory Landscape in the CEET region on the agenda of the First Congress of Actuaires du Monde

3 March 2022 — XPRIMM
Key to enabling inclusive insurance markets to grow in the CEET region is policy actions on the supply and demand side, is one of the findings of a recent survey jointly conducted by Access to Insurance Initiative (a2ii) and Insurance Supervision Agency of Slovenia among representatives of CEET insurance supervisory authorities.

The First Congress of Actuaires du Monde is co-organized by Actuaires du Monde, Insurance Supervision Agency and the Macedonian Actuarial Association, will take place at the Marriott Hotel, in Skopje (North Macedonia) on 31 March & 1 April 2022.

On that occasion, Gorazd CIBEJ, Managing Director, Insurance Supervision Agency, Slovenia and Klime POPOSKI, Professor at University St. Kliment Ohridski, Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, North Macedonia will present the findings of the above-mentioned study. They will review both the current state of Inclusive Insurance in CEET and the existing protection gap that inclusive insurance solution may help dealing with.

In this respect, there is room for improvement in public-private collaboration mechanisms between governments and the insurance industry, in order to create favorable conditions. The insurance industry needs to create new business models designed towards making insurance inclusive, create more innovative products, and rely on new distribution mechanisms. Finally, regulatory adjustments can provide incentives for innovation and for the use of distribution mechanisms that reduce transaction costs and, importantly, create favorable inclusive insurance regulatory frameworks based on proportionality.

Registration is already opened on the Congress web page. Enrollment is possible for the full event (2 days) or only the 2nd day (1 April), for the face-to-face (F2F) event or the on-line event.

Given the pandemic, the organizers will take into consideration all restrictions as per government decisions in North Macedonia. Therefore, the number of attendees for the face-to-face meetings is limited. Enrollments will be done on first come - first served basis.
