Inga BEALE may leave Lloyd's by the end of the year

Although neither Lloyd's or Inga BEALE made any official statement, market rumors say the current head of the London's most renowned reinsurance entity will step down at the end of the year, as reported by the press.

According Re-Insurance.com, Beale's leaving Lloyd's may have to do with the disappointing results of 2017, when catastrophe losses hit hard the historic reinsurance market's profitability, resulting in a GBP 2 billion pre-tax loss and a combined ratio of 114%. In 2016, Lloyd's has reported a GBP 2.1 billion profit.

Inga BEALE was appointed at the helm of Lloyd's in 2014, after serving for two years as CEO of the Canopius Group0 and working for another four years with Zurich Insurance Group. She started her career in 1982 as a reinsurance underwriter with Prudential and developed a successful career in the reinsurance world. Throughout her career she embraced business innovation and new technologies.

Inga BEALE is a President of the UK Chartered Insurance Institute, member of the Geneva Institute's Board, as well as member of the UK Government's Financial Services Trade and Investment Board, the UK Department for Education's Business Advisory Group, the London Mayor's Business Advisory Board.
