"Investing in a Changing World - Energy Transition" under debate at CFA Forecast Dinner 2022

Climate change is no longer solely a societal and geopolitical concern - it reaches the very heart of the investment industry. CFA Society Romania is inviting on 15 March, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Bucharest time) to a special online evening dedicated to investing in the changing world.

The 16th Edition of the CFA Forecast Dinner 2022 is organized under the titles "Investing in a Changing World - Energy Transition". The event will be broadcasted on www.zf.ro and the Facebook account Ziarul Financiar.

ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) factors start to take a toll on investment decisions, CFA Romania's experts say emphasizing that investment managers all over the world become increasingly wary of their role in modeling responsible behavior of listed companies.

Moreover, the current energy crisis acts as a wake-up call for Romania and Europe, which are increasingly dependent on gas suppliers from outside the EU, but energy transition plans are underway. Higher energy prices are affecting consumers and industry, leading to a surge in inflation and significant changes in the money markets.

During the meeting you will learn from the experts compelling answers to a wide range of questions. Opening remarks will come from Ms. Alexandra Smedoiu, CFA - President, CFA Society Romania

Mark Davis, Regional Director, Romania & Bulgaria at EBRD, Alex Monk, Portfolio Manager - Global Resource Equities at Schroders and Marc Vanderhaegen, Head of Unit, Programme support, coordination and communication, European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency will be the special guests of the evening. Their interventions will be moderated by Alexandra Smedoiu, CFA - President, Mugur Popescu, CFA - Board Member, CFA Society Romania and Andreea Nica, CFA - Board Member, CFA Society Romania.

A panel on "Energy investments - highlights and trends" will follow, hosting a team of well-respected speakers: Varinia Radu, Partner, Head of Oil & Gas, CEE and Deputy Head of EPC, CEE at CMS, Razvan Nicolescu, Member of the Supervisory Board, OMV Petrom, Catalin Stancu, Associated Senior Expert, Horvath & Partners, Prof. univ. dr. Sergiu Medar - geopolitics (tbc). The panel's moderator will be Andreea Nica, CFA - Board Member, CFA Society Romania

Alexandra Smedoiu, CFA - President, CFA Society Romania and Adrian Codirlasu, CFA - Vice president, CFA Society Romania will conclude the debates, while Mihai Purcarea, CFA - Board Member, CFA Society Romania will present CFA Romania's forecast as of February 2022.
