(JLT), a global insurance broking company, is interested in expanding its activities in Croatia following the Croatian's government announcement with regard to the sale of the state-owned insurance company CROATIA OSIGURANJE, found out bloomberg.com at the British Investment Forum held in Zagreb.

"We as insurance brokers are very interested in the sale of Croatia Osiguranje, as it may open more opportunity for us to explore this market for our clients," Andrew Webster, a partner at JLT group, said in an interview today. Croatia plans to sell a majority stake in leading insurer CROATIA OSIGURANJE in a public tender, Finance Minister Slavko LINIC said on February 13th. The sale is part of the Government's plan to slash the budget gap this year. The state controls some 80 percent in the insurance company and intends to keep 25 percent plus one share and offer the remaining stock in a public tender, according LINIC. The sale would probably happen this year.
