JLT Re makes three executive appointments

JLT Re (North America) Inc. (JLT Re), part of the global provider of reinsurance broking and consultancy, announced three executive appointments.

George DADDARIO has been appointed Executive Chairman of JLT Re (North America) Inc. In this newly created position for North America, George DADDARIO will continue to lead the Business Development Units in the United States and Canada for JLT Re. He has been with JLT Re since 2014 as a part of the acquisition of the reinsurance business of TOWERS WATSON.

Peter CHANDLER has been appointed Deputy CEO of JLT Re (North America) Inc. He will be responsible for driving new business opportunities and leading the National Global practice area. Peter CHANDLER joined JLT Re in 2016 from MARSH where he was Leader for the Western Region, prior to that he was Chief Operating Officer for GUY CARPENTER in North America and has also held other key roles at GUY CARPENTER and BENFIELD.

Chip OTT has been appointed to the JLT Re North American Executive Committee. He joined JLT Re in 2016 as a part of the acquisition of StoneHill Reinsurance Partners. Chip OTT previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Texas Medical Liability Trust (TMLT), the largest provider of medical liability insurance in the state of Texas.

AEGON completes sale of AEGON Ireland

The Dutch insurer AEGON announced it has successfully completed the sale of its Dublin-based unit (AEGON Ireland plc) to ATHORA Holding Ltd. (ex AGER Bermuda Holding Ltd.). The net proceeds of the transaction are expected to amount to approx. EUR 195 million.
