KAZAKHSTAN: Igor Yakovenko re-elected as insurance ombudsman

On November 7, 2025, by decision of the Commission of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of Financial Market, Igor Yakovenko was re-elected as insurance ombudsman for a three-year term, the Agency reports.

It is noted that Igor Yakovenko is assuming the position of insurance ombudsman for a second term. He has been acting as insurance ombudsman since November 30, 2022.

Under Igor Yakovenko's leadership, a set of systemic measures aimed at improving the efficiency and quality of citizen complaint processing was implemented. A conciliation and simplified dispute resolution procedure was introduced, a structural reform of the insurance ombudsman's office was carried out, and key areas of work were digitized. A CRM system was implemented to automate monitoring of decision execution and facilitate prompt interaction with insurance companies. An online calculator for calculating depreciation when determining damages was launched.

The insurance ombudsman's work will continue to enhance public confidence in the insurance system and foster constructive dialogue between insurance market participants, the statement said.
