kazahstan-statisticsThe Kazakh insurance companies ended 1Q2014 with a 14.27% decrease in gross written premiums, to KZT 66,710.15 million, as compared with KZT 77,812.10 million a year before. In the reporting period, claims paid by the insurers amounted to KZT 16,333.38 million, up by 16.17%, as reported by the Regulation and Supervision Authority for Financial Markets and Financial Organizations.

By insurance classes, the life segment down by 63.10%, to KZT 8,061.77 million. Annuity insurance significantly affected results of the life insurance segment, as well as of the entire market. In the reporting period, the non-life segment increased in the local currency by 4.80%, to KZT 58,648.38 million.
