KAZAKHSTAN: the number of road accidents increases by 55.2% in 1Q2025

The accident rate on Kazakhstan's roads has increased: 31.6 thousand road accidents were recorded in January-December 2024 - twice as many as in 2023, according to the ranking.kz portal.

In the first quarter of 2025, 6.3 thousand road accidents were registered in Kazakhstan, which is 55.2% more y-o-y, Allinsurance.kz writes.

In January-March 2025, the number of road accident victims reached almost 9 thousand, which is 65.5% more y-o-y. The number of injured increased by 70.6%, reaching 8.6 thousand people, while the number of fatalities, on the contrary, decreased by 67%, to 355 people.

It is noted that popularity of Motor Hull in Kazakhstan is expectedly growing. Thus, in January-December 2024, voluntary motor insurance premiums amounted to KZT 106 billion (EUR 0.19 billion). While in January-February 2025, Motor Hull has already reached KZT 13.4 billion (~EUR 24.72 million).
