Key points of digital transformation, analyzed at the Global Summit for Insurance Innovation

Digital transformation is dramatically changing industries like insurance which, thanks to the emergence of new IT companies, are adapting their product lines to the demands of new client, digital natives, who are more demanding and better informed. Such new firms, known collectively as Insurtech, are adding new ingredients to the insurance companies' value chain by means of disruptive proposals.

What are the challenges and most recent trends for markets and business sectors around the world? What opportunities do Insurtech firms bring? To what extent are current clients' needs met? To answer these and other questions, the Global Summit for Insurance Innovation will gather international leaders of the insurance market, from different countries having different levels of innovation and digitalization, to discuss and present the new trends and technological advances that will bring "new blood" to the market.

The opening speech will be delivered by Roberto Sanchez Sanchez, Director General for Innovation and City promotion at Madrid City Council. Other keynote speakers that have confirmed their participation include Spiros Margaris, Venture Capitalist and Senior Advisor at InsureScan, one of the most outstanding influencers in Fintech, Insurtech and financial markets, with more than 20 years of national and international experience in innovation, technology and investment management. He is a member of the investment committee at one of the main family office advisory firms in Switzerland and Europe, co-founder of an innovative company based in New York that provides financial investment advisory software, and founder of one of the first expert websites, also based in New York.

Florian Graillot, Senior Associate at AXA Strategic Ventures, will also take part to explain his views on how to invest in new companies in Europe, with a special focus on technology and the insurance and asset management industries; also Andrea Silvello, founder & MD at Business Support SpA, founder and associate at DigitalTech International and co-founder and CFO at Neosurance; David del Val, CEO at Telefonica I+D; Cesar Alonso Pena, e-Business Digital Manager at the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson; and Maribel de la Vega, Technology Manager at Liberty Seguros Spain.

One of the various expert panel sessions to be held at the event will be moderated by Martin Kornacki, editor at The Digital Insurer.
