The National Health Insurance Company (an autonomous state organization at the national level, carrying out non-profit activities in the field of compulsory health insurance) announced that over MDL 3.95 billion (~EUR 0.20 billion) of revenues were received by compulsory health insurance funds in the first 4 months of 2025, writes Sputnik Moldova.

According to the company, savings increased by 24.7% y-o-y. Most of the revenues are made up of health insurance premiums, which are calculated based on wage amounts - about MDL 2.94 billion, which is about MDL 682 million more than a year earlier.

Fixed premiums for compulsory health insurance amounted to about MDL 314 million, which is MDL 65 million than in the first four months of last year.

Other revenues collected in the company's funds, including insurance premiums paid by residents of information technology parks, reached almost MDL 86 million, which is about MDL 7.4 million more y-o-y. At the same time, in January-April, total expenses of the National Health Insurance company exceeded MDL 5.28 billion. The amount transferred for reimbursed medical services, medicines and medical devices was about MDL 304 million more y-o-y, the company added.
