MOLDOVA: Transtest may acquire 80% of Moldasig

The Competition Council in Moldova declared the economic concentration operation between Transtest and Moldasig compatible with the competitive environment. Thus, the company that owns the Banzai brand can acquire 80% of Moldasig, one of the insurance market leaders, reports.

The main activity of the company Transtest SRL is the manufacture of breadcrumbs and biscuits. At the same time, according to the data available to the public, the company’s basic activity will be packaging and marketing sunflower seeds, peanuts, and other snacks.

According to the Competition Council, the market share of Moldasig on the insurance market in Moldova in 2022 falls within the range of 15-20%. The insurer had a turnover of almost MDL 400 million in 2022.
