The Insurance Supervision Agency (ISA), as of June 30, 2021, received 82 complaints from insureds who were dissatisfied with the work of insurance companies. Compared to the same period last year, in 1H2021 the number of submitted complaints has doubled, ISA said.
Out of a total of 82 complaints in the first six months of the year, 16 were resolved in favor of the insureds who reported to the ISA that they were dissatisfied with how insurance companies resolved the reported damage, which means 220% more resolved complaints in favor of the insureds compared to the same period last year.
In 21 cases the reason for the complaint was the amount of damage compensation offered by insurance companies. Such complaints are not processed as the ISA does not decide on the amount of compensation offered, according to osigurajse website. 34 of all submitted complaints were resolved in favor of the companies.
In terms of the type of insurance, most complaints (33) were filed for damages incurred within vehicle liability insurance coverage. 19 complaints were filed for damages covered by accident insurance, 9 were filed by dissatisfied property insureds.
Most complaints in the first half of this year were submitted for the operation of UNIQA - 13. Out of the total number of submitted complaints, 67 were submitted by individuals, and 15 - by legal entities.
