Nathalie BERGER to address the European Consumer Protection Conference 2017, in Vienna

Nathalie BERGER, Head of Unit Insurance and Pensions Directorate General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (FISMA), European Commission will give the Keynote Speech in the first part of the European Consumer Protection Conference, to be held in Vienna, on February 16th.

Ms. BERGER was appointed Head of the Unit in charge of Insurance and Pensions in 2015. Prior to taking up this position, Nathalie was since July 2012 Head of Unit responsible for Audit and Credit Rating Agencies. She previously worked as an expert in company law and corporate governance and from 2007 onwards as a Deputy Head of Unit in charge of Relations with the European Parliament and Council as well as Policy Coordination.  She joined the European Commission in 2000, mainly responsible for the development of Commission implementing powers in the field of financial services. She was a member of the Commission Task Force on the Future of the European Union and an advisor to the Commission representatives at the European Convention. A French national, Nathalie holds a Ph.D. Doctorate in Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics.

Nathalie BERGER will address an audience of insurance top professionals, representatives of European institutions and national regulators, consultants and academic bodies, speaking about the European Commission's view on the current consumer protection issues in the insurance industry.

The European Consumer Protection Conference will investigate on the matters under debate revealing the point of view of all the stakeholders involved: authorities, insurers and intermediaries, consumers. The event organized with the official support of VVO - the Austrian Insurers' Association, will take place on February 16th, in Vienna.

Regulators, professional associations of insurance undertakings and distributors, consumer associations and consumer representatives and mass-media representatives are offered to attend free of charge subject to availability.

Baden Baden Headlines 3: CEE insurance markets are attractive for reinsurers
