Last year 219,677 agricultural producers (31,246 more than in 2021) concluded insurance contracts for insurance of crops or livestock with a subsidy from the state budget, said Ryszard Bartosik, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Gazeta Ubezpieczeniowa wrote.

Over 4 million hectares of crops and over 22.5 million livestock were protected. PLN 760.14 million (~EUR 161.73 million) out of PLN 4.5 billion allocated for this purpose was used for insurance subsidies. Ryszard Bartosik mentioned that he positively assessed the last year's insurance campaign, as the goal for 2022 of insuring 30% of the crop area was achieved.
