POLAND: More drivers have no mptl

Data of the Insurance Guarantee Fund (UFG) show that during one year the number of drivers who do not have MTPL and have to finance compensation for accidents they cause out of their pocket increased by almost 20%. In the 1st half of 2011, UFG filed such a claim to 1,177 vehicle owners, i.e. almost a fifth more than a year ago. Each of them has to return to the Fund on average PLN 9.4 thousand, i.e. approximately twenty times more than the amount of the average motor TPL premium in Poland.
