POLAND: Results of vig polska after the 1st half of 2011

After the 2nd quarter of 2011, VIG group recorded written premium of PLN 1.98 billion, i.e. 42% more than in the corresponding period of 2010. The non-life companies collected PLN 1.29 billion in premium, which is an 18% increase. In non-life insurance, InterRisk recorded PLN 557 million in premium, Compensa PLN 510 million, Benefia PLN 130 million and PZM PLN 93 million. Meanwhile, VIG's life companies collected in total PLN 691 million. In the 1st half of 2011, Compensa Zycie generated sales of PLN 234 million, i.e. 109% more than a year ago. Written premium of Benefia Zycie amounted to PLN 457 million, which is a 137% increase.

"The main source of revenue increase for us are currently bancassurance products offered by Benefia Zycie and group insurance offered by Compensa Zycie. We plan to take advantage of this potential, and in particular we intend to strengthen our position on the group insurance market by means of an attractive offer and partner cooperation with brokers." - says Franz Fuchs, the president of VIG Polska.
