PZU will hand over 200 cars to medical services to help fight against coronavirus

25 March 2020 — Daniela GHETU
PZU will hand over two hundred cars to medical services that deal with patients suspected of coronavirus infection. Fast and efficient transport is needed, among others to carry test samples from people in home quarantine.

According to PZU Zycie's President, Aleksandra AGATOWSKA, the first lot of cars has already been handed and the company will cover their use expenses. The PZU initiative is also meant to support the small and medium-sized companies, from which the insurer rents cars, and whose turnover in the difficult period related to the announcement of the state of the epidemic decreased by several dozen percent.

"We don't forget about them. We strive to be solid with our business partners with whom we work on a daily basis. We want to help them maintain their income" - says PZU president Beata KOZLOWSKA-CHYLA.

This is another PZU initiative in the fight against coronavirus. In connection with the epidemic, PZU allocated over six million zlotys (~EUR 1.4 million) for the purchase of medical equipment, personal protective equipment and sanitary materials for hospitals. Additional funds, in the amount of several hundred thousand zlotys, were allocated for the purchase of overalls, masks, gloves and disinfectants for Police and Border Guard officers.

Free telemedicine assistance launched by PZU Health has been operating since the beginning of March for all Poles who are worried about their health due to the threat of the epidemic. Every day, PZU Health doctors give advice to several hundred people.
