RNRC released its 2017 portfolio of losses

Russian National Reinsurance Company published its official report on loss portfolio for 2017. The report provides distribution of losses by classes, contract types and geography of insurance events.

According to the report, since RNRC's establishment in 2016 total number of reported claims has reached 1583. 462 of them amounted to more than RUB 63 million. More than RUB 21 million paid under facultative reinsurance (among them RUB 17.7 million for aircraft hull insurance) and RUB 41 million paid under obligatory agreements (among them RUB 38 million for inland transport insurance). 1085 of reported claims were submitted to ceding insurers and will be settled upon RNRC's receipt of the results. RNRC's reserve for all reported not-settled claims is RUB 4.5 billion.

During 1 year of RNRC's presence on the market it is not possible to accumulate good data for a full analytical report and trends about reported claims and settlement procedures of insurers, - said the Head of RNRC claims settlement department Vladislav TIMOFEEV. According to him in the presented report RNRC tried to make a survey of losses to show the main features of loss portfolio of all the market players.
