The Romaninan insurance brokers mediated GWP worth RON 4.62 billion (EUR 1.02 billion) during the first nine months of 2017, 1,25% more y-o-y. Non-life premiums totaled RON 4.48 billion, while the value of mediated premiums related to life segment was RON 140.78 million.

Compared to the total volume of gross premiums written by insurers for the two categories of insurance (RON 7.32 billion / EUR 1.61 billion), the share of mediated premiums in total insurance market was of 63.20%, down by 3.17% y-o-y, as ASF announced in a statement.

In the first nine months of 2017, the Romanian brokers reported aggregate income from the insurance intermediation activity worth RON 708.30 million (EUR 155.63 million), down by 7.12% y-o-y. The mentioned amount represents about 15.31% of total mediated premiums.

According to ASF, at the end of September 2017 there were 317 brokerage companies active in the market. At the same time there were 39 brokers with temporarily prohibited activity, as well 28 brokers with suspended activity.

Thus, from the point of view of the volume of mediated premiums, the 10 largest Romanian insurance brokers for January-September 2017 are listed below.
