RUSSIA: MTPL combined loss ratio as of the end of the 3rd quarter dropped by more than 40%

Based on the report on financial stability for the 2nd and 3rd quarters, prepared by the Bank of Russia, MTPL combined ratio dropped to 79.2% (vs 119.9% a year ago).

Among the main reasons leading to the decreasing loss ratio the regulator pointed out the stabilization of ROSGOSSTRAKH's position, expansion of in-kind compensation and improvement of insurers' interaction with customers.

From 20 MTPL insurers, which together generate 91.9% of premiums, fluctuation of MTPL portfolio growth was recorded between -46.7% and 190%. At that, 7 MTPL companies, market share of which amounts to 5.3%, were at risk due to possible non-compliance with regulatory requirements of capital adequacy, ASN wrote.
