20 May 2020 — Marina MAGNAVAL
ROSGOSSTRAKH Life company, which based on 2019 results ranked 7th among local life insurers, made its first payment under COVID-19 risk, as the insurer said on May 18th in a press release.

The amount of this payment due to coronavirus will be RUB 1.74 million (~EUR 22 thousand) under a corporate life insurance contract. The payment is related to the death of the insured person with a confirmed positive after a virus test.

As the director of the methodology at ROSGOSSTRAKH Life Alexey KRIVOSHEEV explained, "this is the first claim to ROSGOSSTRSKH Life due to coronavirus (...) Despite the fact that the COVID-19 diagnosis is no exception to the risk associated with life and health of insureds, we do not expect the number of insurance events due to coronavirus increase dramatically."
