conf_yaltaThe slow evolution of the global economy, the rising inflation and unemployment, as well as the austerity measures were the main effects that the financial crisis has had on the insurance / reinsurance markets, according to Fabrice de DIANOUS, Director, Central and Eastern Europe Department, SCOR S.E.

Nevertheless, the significantly higher occurrence of the nat cat risks, has also determined important losses for the industry, added de DIANOUS.

However, inflation is particularly challenging for the international insurance / reinsurance market, because of the long tail risks. "We are undertaking risks for very long periods, of 15 to 20 years", said the SCOR representative, "meaning that inflation can have a huge impact on our business".
