Bulgarian insurance market reported 1Q 2025 GWP worth BGN 1.37 billion (EUR 698.65 million), up 21.58% y-o-y, according to the official quarterly figures published on Financial Supervisory Commission website. Life insurers' GWP increased by 10.8% to BGN 210 million, while non-life insurers' GWP rose by 23.67% to BGN 1.15 billion.

At the “claims chapter”, the value of paid claims by insurers increased by 21.7% y-o-y, to BGN 574.23 million (~EUR 293.6 million) due to almost 29% increase in the non-life segment.

In GWP terms, BULSTRAD Life VIG claimed the top rank on the life insurance market (30% market share), followed by DZI Life Insurance and ALLIANZ Bulgaria Life.

DallBogg: Zhivot I zdrave (15.38% market share), EUROINS (11.75%) and BULSTRAD Vienna Insurance Group (10.74%) are the Top 3 non-life insurers.
