Bulgarian insurance market reported 3Q 2024 GWP worth BGN 3.49 billion (EUR 1.78 billion), up 6.05% y-o-y, according to the official quarterly figures published on Financial Supervisory Commission website. Life insurers' GWP increased by 9.5% to BGN 584.94 million, while non-life insurers' GWP rose by 5.37% to BGN 2.9 billion.

At the “claims chapter”, the value of paid claims by insurers remained quasi stable y-o-y to BGN 1.49 billion (~EUR 760.8 million) due to 6% decrease in the non-life segment (to BGN 1.20 billion).

In GWP terms, DZI Life remained the biggest player on the life insurance market despite losing almost 8 percentage points of its market share (29.89% vs. 37.7% the previous year), and GWP decreasing by 13%, to BGN 174.86 million. DallBogg: Zhivot I zdrave ranked first in the non-life sector, with GWP worth BGN 3265.4 million, up by almost 60% y-o-y. Its market share increased from 8.3% to 12.6%. For companies are completing the Top 5, with market shares in the range 10.26%-11.3%: Bulstrad Vienna Insurance Group, Euroins, LEV INS , DZI - General insurance.
