The insurance market of Bosnia and Herzegovina ended Q3 2024 with aggregate GWP worth BAM 824.33 million (~EUR 421.47 million), up by 10.75% y-o-y, market data published by AZOBiH - Insurance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The non-life GWP's contribution to the market portfolio was about 81.5% (BAM 671.99 million, 12.58% more y-o-y), while the life-insurance companies contributed the remainder BAM 152.34 million, or 3.4% more y-o-y.
Total paid claims and indemnities at the entire market level totaled BAM 322.34 million (EUR 164.8 million), up by 6.64% y-o-y. Life indemnities accounted for BAM 77 million, while on claim files opened on non-life subclasses local insurers reported payments worth BAM 245.34 million.
FBiH insurers generated almost 69.5% of the total GWP (BAM 573.07 million), while insurers domiciled in Srpska Republic posted GWP worth BAM 251.26 million.
FBiH based Vienna osiguranje is the largest life insurer in the market, with a 21.8% market share followed by the FBiH subsidiaries of other two „Austrians” - Uniqa osiguranje and Grawe osiguranje. ASA osiguranje is the top non-life insurer, with a market share of 14.54%, the Top 3 being completed by Adriatic osiguranje and Euroherc osiguranje.
