STATISTICS:  CIS, 1H2021: Kyrgyzstan ended the first half of the year with the largest GWP increase, while Azerbaijan - with the largest increase in paid claims (in EUR)
The regional CIS* insurance market in 1H grew by almost 12% (in euros), total GWP exceeded EUR 12.84 billion. Paid claims also recorded a significant increase y-o-y (+15.45%) and amounted to EUR 5.26 billion, according to xprimm statistics.

The Armenian market grew the least in European currency, practically stagnating (+0.31%), and Kyrgyzstan saw the most rapid growth - by more than 63%, although the share of this market in the regional portfolio is the smallest (0.06%). The leading market in the region with the largest GWP share - Russia, expanded by more than 10%, however, its share slightly decreased from the level for the first half of 2020.

It should be noted that GWP-wise all the markets under review recorded positive dynamics. However, on paid claims side some of markets recorded a decrease - most of all paid claims decreased in Kazakhstan (-42.11%), while others ended the half-year with an increase in paid claims - the largest increase was in Azerbaijan.
