The CIS regional insurance market* ended the first three quarters of 2022 with an annual growth of approximately 43% y-o-y in euros, reaching EUR 28.15 billion, according to xprimm statistics.

Among the markets, for which data is available for comparison, the most significant increase in premiums after the second quarter continues to be demonstrated by Uzbekistan (+98.05%), followed by Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia is in third place in terms of growth rates. The insurance market of Kazakhstan recorded the least growth in volumes (+20.34%), while the Ukrainian market continues to be the only market in the region where there is an annual decline in GWP volumes - by more than 34%. The region's leader, Russia grew by 50%, occupying over 85% of the regional premium portfolio.

Total paid claims across the region rose by around 61% to EUR 13.20 billion. Uzbekistan continues to show the fastest growth in paid claims after the second quarter (+174%). All reviewed markets in the region recorded an increase in paid claims, except for Ukraine, where there was a decrease by more than 38%.
