Bulgarian insurance market reported 1H 2025 GWP worth BGN 2.73 billion (EUR 1.39 billion), up 17% y-o-y, according to the official quarterly figures published on Financial Supervisory Commission.

Out of the total, life insurance accounted for 15.26%, with GWP of BGN 416.8 million (EUR 213 million), up 4.7% y-o-y.

Non-life insurers reported total GWP worth BGN 2.31 billion (EUR 1.18 billion), up 19.5% y-o-y. The largest contribution to the non-life market’s growth belonged to the motor insurance segment, which saw GWP growing y-o-y by 19.16%, to BGN 1.63 billion (EUR 835 million).

Top 3 life insurers were: BULSTRAD Life VIG (29.5% market share), DZI Life Insurance (2866%) and ALLIANZ Bulgaria Life (19.94%). On the non-life insurance side, the Top 3 largest insurers were DallBogg: Zhivot I zdrave (15.09% market share), Euroins (11.79%) and Bulstrad VIG (10.78%).
