At the end of March 2023, the BiH insurance market totaled EUR 117.27 million (BAM 229.35 million), 9.32% more y-o-y, according to the quarterly market figures published by the local insurance agency - AZOBIH.

Non-life insurance premiums increased by 10.64% year-on-year to EUR 92.46 million (BAM 180.83 million), while premiums in the life insurance segment went up 4.67% to EUR 24.81 million (BAM 48.53 million). From the non-life subclasses, EUR 12.61 million corresponded to the property lines and EUR 63.18 million to motor insurance (MoD and MTPL, summed).

The value of GWP of the insurers operating in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina increased by 10.59% to EUR 82.98 million (70.76% of total GWP), while the Republika Srpska based insurers generated EUR 34.29 million, up by 6.36% y-o-y.

In terms of GWP, the top three largest insurers in the country were FBiH based insurers ADRIATIC osiguranje (10.02% market share), ASA osiguranje (9.91%) and UNIQA osiguranje (8.92%).
